Overview
The Molecular Technologist would be responsible for performing complex technical pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical automated and manual molecular testing according to policy and procedures.

The Molecular Technologist would be responsible for performing complex technical pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical automated and manual molecular testing according to policy and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Testing laboratory specimens following standard methods and procedures
- Determine the acceptability of specimens prior to initiating the testing process
- Ability to perform routine molecular test procedures, such as: Specimen processing, Polymerase chain reaction, Real-time PCR, FISH processing and analysis
- Assures quality of testing results by performing quality control procedures, instrument calibration, and instrument maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain a consistent supply of reagents and consumables
- Follow guidelines for safety, environmental and infection control
- Current CA Clinical Laboratory License is required
- 3+ years Molecular diagnostic experience preferred;
- Performs basic computer functions within the Laboratory Information System
- Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills are required
- Ability to plan and organize workload effectively
- Routine problem solving essential
- Pleasant, courteous and professional manner
