An earned associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, OR education/training equivalent that includes 24 semester hours of medical technology courses OR 24 semester hours of science courses OR graduate of an approved Pathologist’s Assistant program and/or Board Certified is preferred.
Overview
Position is responsible to perform and dictate gross examination of tissue samples received in the laboratory, under supervision of the Medical Director.
Ability to dictate gross examination of tissue samples, including size, number, color and shape in a clear and organized manner. Ability to communicate with Pathologist’s information pertaining to specific tests and procedures and status of specimens with other laboratory sections as needed. Ability to communicate with other departments; maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers and demonstrates a high level of integrity and honesty on maintaining confidentiality.
