Vaginal, tongue, skin, etc. specimen. For YourSwab (BD ESwab) collection: Transfer collected specimen into the vial, making sure that the sample is in contact with the transport media.

Clinical Utility

To detect the presence of candida (causative agent of candidiasis or other yeast). Candidiasis, is a common yeast infection that is due primarily to the overgrowth of Candida albicans and other species of Candida, which are part of the normal flora.
