Aspirate may be transported to Pathology, Inc. in collection syringe. Remove needle and recap syringe to prevent leakage.
Hold specimen at room temperature (never refrigerate). Transport to Pathology, Inc. as soon as possible.
To grow, isolate and identify organism casing infection of bone joints; to determine the likelihood that a particular antimicrobial agent will be effective in stopping the growth of the bacteria causing infection.
