Method

Hybrid Capture 2. Hybrid Capture 2 test for high risk HPV types 16/18/31/33/35/39/45/ 51/52/56/58/59/68. A negative result does not exclude HPV infection since not all HPV types associated with anogenital infection are included in this assay. Low viral antigen levels may also be below the detection threshold. Test results should be interpreted in conjunction with the patient's clinical history and/or presentation. This test is not FDA approved or is it validated by Pathology, Inc. for this sample type. Test performed at physicians request. Interpret with caution and correlate with other supporting data.
