Instructions/Notes
State collection method- void, clean catch, catheterized. Midstream clean catch specimen is preferred. Void the first portion of the urine stream into the toilet. Collect the second (midstream) portion into a clean or sterile screw capped leak-proof container.

Clinical Utility
To screen for metabolic and kidney disorders and urinary tract infections; to determine which specific bacteria are present, and to isolate and grow the bacteria for subsequent antibiotic susceptibility testing.
