Instructions/Notes
Disinfect overlaying skin with iodine preparation. Obtain specimen via percutaneous needle aspiration or surgery. DO NOT SUBMIT SWAB DIPPED IN FLUID. Hold specimen at room temperature (never refrigerate). Transport to Pathology, Inc. as soon as possible. Indicate specimen source on test requisition and specimen container.
